Amazon is in the criticism of the Verdi union because of his rejection of collective agreements. The US group still regularly increases its entry-level wages in logistics.
The US group Amazon wants to increase the entry-level wages for its logistics employees in Germany in September in September. The future gross entry content for unskilled people should be 15.65 euros “and more”, as the German Amazon subsidiary in Munich announced. The current Amazon entry-level salary in logistics is at least 15 euros, in September next year it should be over 16 euros. The regulation applies to the 90 locations in which Amazon sends packages, sorted or delivered to the end recipients.
Amazon has no uniform salaries across Germany, so that it can be a little more at individual locations. According to the company, 22 of the German locations currently pay entry -level wages of 16 euros or more, with the increase now announced, their number is to increase to 52.
From September, the employees in logistics should earn an average of more than 40,000 euros gross a year after two years of service. The online retailer employs a total of 40,000 people in Germany, and according to the company, the majority works in logistics.
Amazon rejects collective agreements and is therefore criticized by the Verdi union for years. The company therefore sets its wage increases without a previous tariff round. Germany boss Rocco Bräuniger emphasized that Amazon Germany had increased wages of logistics staff every year since 2014.
