The railway wants to boost demand in long -distance transport with discount campaigns. A survey shows what many people think of current prices.
According to a survey, two thirds of consumers consider railway tickets to be expensive or rather expensive. More than one in ten respondents, in turn, stated that the ticket prices were just right or favorable, as can be seen from the survey of the Institute YouGov and the Statista Statista.
More than one fifth stated that he couldn’t say anything about it because he or she did not use the long -distance traffic of Deutsche Bahn. Around 2,000 people were interviewed online for the survey between the 14th and 16th July.
The driving prices in the long -distance transport of the federal group fluctuate strongly, depending on the day of the week, time and the associated demand. If you book for a short notice for a trip on Friday evening, you pay significantly more than someone who is traveling at lunchtime during the week. Most recently, the railway had tried with extensive discount campaigns to boost long-distance demand during the summer.
At the timetable change in mid -December 2024, the railway had increased prices for the so -called flex tickets by six percent. This allows customers to take any train on the desired connection on the desired connection. Also important route tickets and the BahnCard 100 became more important for commuters. Saving and super savings prices, on the other hand, have not changed to change timetable.
The Railway and Transport Union (EVG) recently warned that further price increases for passengers could be decided this year in view of increasing usage fees for the rail infrastructure.
