In the fight against undeclared work and money laundering, the federal government also wants to target barbershops, cosmetics and nail studios. In the future, employees should always have their ID card for possible controls – similar to that has already been valid for the construction industry and in the gastronomy. The tightening is part of a new law that the cabinet in Berlin decided. Next, the measures in the Bundestag are debated.



In Barbershops, not only undeclared work, but also money laundering and the integration into structures of clank rimity, it was said in government circles. Illegal employment and sometimes exploitial forms of employment can also be found in nail studios.

Financial control should become more targeted


With the law of Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil (SPD), the financial control of undeclared work is also intended to become powerful against serious economic crime and organized crime. “We make a harder gait to act against those who enrich workers at the expense of the general public and on the back of illegally,” explained Klingbeil. Better digital networking and better data exchange between authorities are planned. In order to relieve the judiciary, financial control should be able to guess fraud.

The changes in the law should also ensure additional income in the federal budget. The Ministry of Finance expects around two billion euros more for the federal government, countries and social security until 2029.
