The Munich group is also relatively unimpressed by the global faults in the third quarter. The job reduction causes manageable costs.
Despite all the faults in the global economy, Siemens earns more. The profit rose in the third business quarter, which runs at the Munich group from April to June, 5 percent to 2.2 billion euros, sales also slightly to 19.4 billion. The order input even increased by a full quarter to 24.7 billion euros – especially thanks to large orders for the railway technology division mobility.
“With our performance in the third quarter, we prove that Siemens delivers robust results despite one -volatile global market,” emphasizes CEO Roland Busch. His financial director Ralf P. Thomas also confirmed the forecast for the current year.
However, the numbers are not completely undisturbed: the Digital Industries division (DI), in which Siemens builds 5,600 jobs worldwide, lost sales and yield. However, this is primarily not the most recent crisis automation business, in which the demand now attracts again, but an exceptionally strong comparison quarter in the same period last year. At that time Siemens had benefited from the sale of software licenses. In addition, the personnel structure at DI 10 million euros pressed on the result – especially in automation.
