Germany’s largest armaments group continues to see itself on the road to success. However, growth should continue: in the second half of the year Rheinmetall expects new orders from Germany.
A slow input has slowed down Germany’s largest armaments group Rheinmetall on its rapid growth course. The assignment of the order in Germany after the new elections in the spring was only significantly late in the second half of the year, Rheinmetall said in Düsseldorf in the presentation of the quarterly figures. Nevertheless, the order books are plumply filled at a record level. The Bundeswehr plays an important role for the armaments group: in the first half of the year, almost a third of sales were generated in Germany.
At the start of the year, Rheinmetall had still benefited from ancient effects. In the second quarter, the so -called nomination then collapsed 77 percent to 2.6 billion euros. In addition to the classic order intake, this code includes volume from newly concluded framework contracts with military customers.
Papperger: Rheinmetall is on the way to global armaments
“Our order books are full and will continue to fill up in the future,” said Rheinmetall boss Armin Papperger, according to the announcement. Rheinmetall is successful on the way to becoming a global armor bum. “In the meantime, we are also a serious partner for US companies.” With 63.2 billion euros, the so -called backlog also rose to a record high. In addition to the order stock, for example, it also includes the expected calls from existing framework contracts with military customers.
Rheinmetall’s core business currently consists of artillery, tanks, ammunition and anti-aircraft guns. Germany’s largest armaments group is growing strongly as a result of the Ukraine War.
Investors take profits with
After the Rheinmetall course had almost tripled since the beginning of the year alone, investors used the time for profit. In the morning, the share was temporarily around 4.5 percent below the previous day with 1,703 euros.
In the first half of the year, Rheinmetall increased sales by 24 percent to 4.7 billion euros. In military business, sales only climbed by 36 percent. The operational group profit attracted 18 percent to 475 million euros.
