Openai boss: Don’t let everything dictate from AI

More and more people are asking Chatgpt for advice in different situations. This is good for the business of the developer company Openaai – but boss Sam Altman is also worried.

The head of the Chatgpt developer Openai, Sam Altman, is concerned that people could completely design their lives according to recommendations for AI software. “It seems to me that something important is lost, even if the advice was always really good,” said the tech entrepreneur in the US broadcaster CNBC. However, artificial intelligence is not that far to give really good recommendations, he restricted.

But: “We will still ask Chatgpt what we should do” and what goals you want to achieve, said Atman. People would then still have to decide whether they follow the recommendations. He does not think that in the future you will feel that you have lost the freedom for self -determined action.

GPT-5 as a new AI model

Openai released the next generation of his AI software on Thursday. GPT-5 should run faster and with fewer errors. The predecessor GPT-4 communicated at the level of a university student-GPT-5, on the other hand, is like an “expert for every topic with a doctorate,” said Altman when the new version was presented. The AI Chatbot Chatgpt also runs for free users with GPT-5.

Openaai places a special focus on the fact that the new generation is good to program software. It should also be better able to evaluate health data.

Investments instead of profit

The hype about artificial intelligence began with the publication of Chatgpt at the end of 2022. According to Openai, Chatgpt currently has almost 700 million weekly users. In addition to Openaai, companies such as Anthropic, Elon Musks Xai as well as the Tech heavyweights Google and Meta are also in the race for the management position in the AI future.

Altman said at CNBC that Openai could make profits faster than originally thought if one would reduce the expenses. In his view, however, the right thing is to continue investing and growing in computer performance. Together with partners, the company wants to put several hundred billion dollars in data centers for artificial intelligence.
