Trumpf provides technology for armaments industry
A decision has been struggled for a long time: Now the laser specialist Trumpf announces that it will also make its technologies available to the armaments industry in the future – under a prerequisite.
In the future, the machine builder and laser specialist Trumpf could also deliver its products to companies from the armaments industry. The security policy framework worldwide had changed again in recent months, a spokesman said on request.
Against this background, after intensive discussions, there was a decision by the family of entrepreneurs and the company to provide trump cards for defense solutions. The “Neue Zürcher Zeitung” had previously reported about it.
“The development and production of laser -based weapons systems and components of weapons systems as well as the supply of customers from the armaments industry is possible if it is exclusively defensive weapons,” said the speaker. “Only that and nothing else will we be able to offer potential customers in the future,” said the spokesman.
Again of sales in the past financial year
Most recently, the company from the Swabian Ditzingen had announced a drop in sales from 5.2 billion euros to 4.3 billion euros for the 2024/25 financial year. The order input has dropped from 4.6 billion euros to 4.2 billion euros. Trumpf made no information about the profit. The final figures including the result are to be published in October. Trumpf’s financial year ended at the end of June.
