Elon Musk wants to force Apple to present the apps of his online platform X and the AI Chatbots Grok prominently in the App Store. He even threatens legal steps.
Tech billionaire Elon Musk accuses Apple of discrimination against his apps and threatens to complain against the iPhone group. Above all, Musk criticized the fact that Apple does not record the applications of the online platform X and the GROK AI Chatbots in editorially created recommendation lists in the App Store.
Musk also claimed on X that Apple’s behavior was ensured that no other AI company in addition to the Chatgpt developer Openai could reach the top position in the download charts on the Apple platform. That is why his AI company Xai will take legal action.
Openai is a partner of Apple with artificial intelligence on the iPhone. Musk therefore speaks of a “clear violation of competition”. Meanwhile, users of X point out that the Ki apps Deepseek and Perplexity are quite climbing top positions in Apple’s app store-after the agreement with Openaai. At first there was no reaction from Apple.
Musk already complained against renegade advertisements
It would not be the first time that Musk tries to force other companies with complaints to better treat its companies. After taking over the X predecessor Twitter and softening the content rules, many advertisers left the platform. They feared that their ads will appear alongside extremist contributions. X later went to court against several companies and an industrial group and accused them of a agreed procedure to harm the platform. The outcome of the procedures is still open.
