According to the solar craft association, bankruptcies and layoffs threaten without funding for small PV systems. The discussion about a possible funding also consumer.
With a view to a possible end to state funding for new, small solar systems, the Federal Association of Solar Hands warns of discharge waves in the solar industry. “We already have a lot of bankruptcies in the solar industry or layoffs and this wave of layoffs simply cannot go on,” said association chairman Peter Knuth in “Munich Merkur”.
Many consumers are unsettled by the discussion about the end of government funding, initially waited for further development and released projects for one year. “Exactly that shouldn’t be,” said Knuth. Economic Minister Katherina Reiche (CDU) had previously questioned the funding and pointed out that private solar systems were already paying off on the market today.
Workers for energy transition are scarce
For years they have been working for the fact that the energy transition is progressing, and now you lose employees who have been familiar with the topic, said Knuth. “Once these specialists are out of the industry, it is difficult to get them back.”
The search for qualified workers for the energy transition is difficult. In order to further expand renewable energies such as wind power and photovoltaics, around 160,000 additional workers will be used in Germany by 2030, as a model calculation from the Institute for Labor Market and Vocational Research recently showed.
Minister of Economics: Small solar systems put network under stress
Anyone who generates solar power on their roof and feeds into the network will receive a fixed amount per kilowatt hour. This varies according to the size of the system, type of feed -in and time of commissioning.
Reiche had said the “Augsburger Allgemeine”, new, small PV systems already calculated on the market and did not require any funding. The prices for systems and memory have dropped significantly. The large number of non -controllable, small solar systems feeds uncontrolled and put the network under stress.
“That is why PV systems should be connected to power storage and controllable, participate in the market and market their electricity,” said the minister. However, the CDU politician does not want to change anything about the feed-in tariff for existing solar systems with reference to existing protection.
