Court: Lufthansa does not have to prefer Condor guests
Condor passengers were able to build on preferred conditions at Lufthansa for a long time. After the end of the program, the airlines fought in court – which now ensures clarity.
Lufthansa still does not have to bring passengers of the competitor Condor to the Tiblet Frankfurt at preferred conditions. After several decisions in the urgent procedure, the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court has now also decided in the main. The responsible Senate has declared a corresponding order from the Federal Cartel Office for formal reasons for illegal reasons, as a judicial spokeswoman confirms (Az.: VI -Kart 7/22).
Lufthansa had already discontinued the service, which had previously been performed for many years, at the end of 2024. Since then, Condor has had to pay higher prices for Lufthansa tickets for its transferors and can no longer have the usual dimensions of seating capacities. The significantly smaller airline has strengthened its own supply network to Frankfurt in response to this. You check the decision and the next steps, the airline said.
The Lufthansa Group was satisfied with the decision. A spokesman said: “This confirmed that all crucial procedures have confirmed that the termination of the special agreements with Condor was legally permitted. The Lufthansa Group will of course continue to provide Condor – like other competitors – as part of a so -called interlining agreement.”
