AfD-related organization fails with a lawsuit against VW subsidiary

An association that refers to itself as a “alternative union” wants access to the work of a VW subsidiary. The company wants to prevent this and books a first success in court.

For the time being, the AfD-related employee organization Center does not have access to a work by the VW subsidiary Volkswagen Group Services. The lawsuit was rejected, the Labor Court of Braunschweig. The court described the lectures and documents submitted by the plaintiff as too general and not sufficiently detailed.

The association, which refers to itself as a “alternative union”, wants to access the work in Isenbüttel in Lower Saxony for the first time in order to have their own trustees voted. Volkswagen refuses to refuse to use a lack of tariff ability.

Richter does not see a decisive prerequisite

The court described it as a crucial prerequisite that at least one member of the center also works in the factory. This was not sufficiently proven by the plaintiffs. The judgment is not final. An appeal is possible. A reaction of the association to the judgment in the first instance could initially not be obtained.

Volkswagen Group Services sees his own view confirmed by the judgment. Companies are not obliged to provide access to every organization – especially not when it comes to security interests and the protection of company secrets.

VW subsidiary: Standards for a safe work environment

“We will continue to ensure that our work environment remains free of opposing influences and our standards are preserved for a safe and trusting work environment,” said a spokeswoman for the VW subsidiary.

Meanwhile, IG Metall warned of a strengthening of the club in the Volkswagen Group. “The center causes disagreement. That weakens the workforce instead of strengthening them,” said Thorsten Gröger, district manager of IG Metall for Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, the German Press Agency.
