After almost a quarter of a century, Lufthansa introduces new uniforms. Hugo Boss is said to be the designer of the new work clothes, which is to be tested from September.
For the first time in almost 25 years, Lufthansa employees have been given new uniforms in the cabin and on the ground. Lufthansa is currently checking a new uniform on “comfort, fit and functionality and pays particular attention to the sustainability of the fabrics,” said a spokesman on Monday. “Aerotelegraph” had initially reported – according to this, the new uniforms of Hugo Boss were designed.
The last new uniform at Lufthansa was in 2002
From September 1st, “selected employees will test uniform parts in regular use in the cabin, cockpit and on the ground for four months,” said the speaker. This begins a “decisive phase” in which the airline wants to gain important knowledge for possible further steps. In what form and at what point these uniform parts are inserted is still open. “We do not comment on the commissioned service provider.”
Most recently, the crew – then 25,000 employees – had been equipped with new uniforms at the beginning of 2002, “within just a few months”, as it says in a chronicle of Lufthansa. The then new outfit was described as “elegant, classic and contemporary at the same time”.
