Panasonic opens new heat pump factory in the Czech Republic

Heat pumps are considered to be climate -friendly alternative to conventional heating. In the fight for the European and German market, the Japanese giant Panasonic is now upgrading.
With the expansion of its heat pump production in the Czech Republic, the Japanese Group Panasonic wants to get the European market. “We have ambitious growth goals and will challenge the European brand manufacturers,” said a spokesman for the company at the opening of a new work in the West Bohemian Pils (plz). Accordingly, it is planned to increase the production there to 1.4 million heat pump pumps and outdoor units per year by 2030.
Japanese want to challenge European companies
The Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said the investment showing that his country offer “attractive conditions for technologically demanding and innovative projects”. According to Panasonic Germany, the main sales markets of the new work will include. The factory is almost 70 kilometers from the Bavarian border. Panasonic sees “positive development” in Germany
In the first half of the year there was an increase of 55 percent to 139,500 pieces compared to the same period last year. This emerges from figures from the Federal Association of the German Heating Industry (BDH) and the Federal Association of Heat Pump (BWP). At Panasonic, you therefore make yourself optimistic on request: “Despite the fact that the demand in the market is still below the extraordinary level of 2023, we clearly see a positive development in the German market,” it said.
Heat pumps use heat from the environment to heat buildings. They are considered a climate -friendly alternative to natural gas and heating oil. Well -known German manufacturers of heat pumps include Vaillant, Viessmann, Buderus, Bosch and Stiebel Eltron.
