Jaguar Land Rover paralyzed to cyber attack

The British car manufacturer has to shut down its systems to avoid damage. Several large British companies and institutions were recently the goal of cyber criminals.

The British automobile manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover has suffered serious disorders in production and sale due to a cyber attack.

As the company announced, the systems were shut down to limit the damage. “We are now working quickly to start our world-used IT systems again in a controlled way,” said a spokeswoman on the DPA request.

Who was behind it was initially unclear

So far there has been no evidence that customer data has been stolen. Jaguar Land Rover belongs to the Indian Group of Tata Motors.

It was initially unclear who could be behind the cyber attack. Several large companies and institutions have recently become the goal of partially devastating cyber attacks, including the market chain Marks and Spencer and the British Library.
