Flixtrain extends combination tickets to around 1,000 cities

Flixtrain is one of the few railway competitors in long-distance transport. For some time now, the company has also been offering combination tickets for regional traffic. Now there are more goals.

The train company Flixtrain is expanding its cooperation in regional traffic on the rail and will in future offer so -called combined tickets for around 1,000 cities. That is around 400 destinations more than before, as the company announced. In addition to the FLIX long-term train, passengers book the connecting train of a partner company in the so-called Germany tariff association (DTV) with the combination tickets. Flixtrain promises that passengers pay less than when they bought their own ticket for each section.

Flix is only one of the few competitors of Deutsche Bahn on long -distance traffic. The company focuses on heavily sought -after routes that are economically expected. So far, around 50 destinations in Germany and Basel have been part of their own network. Furthermore, Flix will not offer its own trips to regional transport. With the expansion of the cooperation in the DTV, smaller places would have access to cheaper flixtrain connections, it said.
