Because of a secret relationship with an employee, Nestlé released his CEO. But the scandal could not be over for Laurent Freixe.
Former Nestlé CEO Laurent Freixe has to endure a public disgrace. His affair with an employee who was directly subordinate to him became public, then the Swiss company separated from its CEO. Now the Frenchman has spoken out for the first time after the scandal.
Freixe does not respond to the circumstances of his release. However, he speaks in a comment on a post of his successor Philipp Navratil that he “just reactivated his communication channels”. This suggests that Freixe had to hand in his service cell phone immediately after his dismissal and thus seemed to be cut off from the outside world for a short time – further humiliation for the just as powerful.
Freixe wishes new Nestlé boss success
“My first message goes to you and the 270,000 colleagues at Nestlé,” Freixe writes under the entry of Navratil, in which he announces his transport. “It was an honor to serve Nestlé in the 39 years.” He wished his successor Navratil, who headed the business with the Nespresso area and was sitting in the group management.
These company bosses lost their jobs because of a relationship
The current case: Laurent Freixe had a relationship with an employee about whom he did not inform his company. He only became head of the Swiss food group Nestlé in September 2024. The Board of Directors saw in its behavior a violation of the company’s code of conduct and internal guidelines of the company – that’s why Freixe had to vacate his post after a year

Even if Freix’s reputation has suffered greatly in public in the past few days, many of his former colleagues and employees strengthen his back. Various companions reacted to his comment and praised his leadership qualities during his long time at Nestlé.
Was there a second lover?
However, the affair is not yet over, there are further delicate rumors to the public, which are not officially confirmed. The Swiss Financial Portal “Inside Paradeplatz” reports that Freixe is said to have had a relationship with an employee from marketing-the relationship that ultimately brought down the 63-year-old. Freixe is said to have had a second lover in the company next to her, “an even higher, long-time and recognized top manager,” writes the portal.
This woman is said to have caught him with the other lover in Flagranti and then blackened Freixe internally. The investigation against the Nestlé boss then got rolling. A company spokesman did not want to comment on the speculation.
Freixe affair from marketing has apparently laid down a steep career within the food group. In the meantime, she has also left the company. The Board of Directors saw Freixe’s behavior a violation of the Nestlé behavioral code and internal guidelines and put it off as CEO with immediate effect.
