Boeing has an agreement according to strike in armaments division
Boeing workers who build fighter planes have been on the strike since August. Now there is a provisional agreement.
After more than a month of strike, Boeing has reached an agreement with the union in the armaments division. Members should vote on the new agreement on Friday, as the IAM union announced. It is therefore designed for five years and should also offer a one -off payment in addition to income increases.
The armaments division has been on strike around 3,200 employees since the beginning of August. Among other things, they build fighter planes such as the F-15 and rocket systems in the states of Missouri and Illinois. Boeing had hired new employees in the past few weeks so that work continues.
Last autumn, a strike tens of thousands of workers paralyzed the production of Boeing’s bestseller model 737 and the long-distance jet 777 for around two months. At the beginning of November, employees took the aircraft manufacturer’s offer with an income plan of 38 percent over a term of four years.
Boeing has been in crisis for years after a series of breakdown. The arms division is struggling with delays and billions of billions of costs for several projects. This also includes the conversion of two Boeing 747 machines to new presidential aircraft.
