When it comes to night in Hamburg, the port of magically blue shines. Thousands of lights were attached to ships and buildings. The most beautiful pictures of the “Blue Port”.
In Hamburg, the harbor is currently experiencing its blue phase again: “Blue Port” is the name of the spectacle, which currently immerses numerous buildings and facilities of the harbor in a blue light every night. From darkness until shortly before midnight, the gigantic art installation can be admired, which was realized under the aegis of the light artist Michael Batz and lasts about one and a half weeks.
The glittering light spectacle has been taking place for the tenth time: the “Blue Port” has been around every two years since 2008, once the show in blue has been canceled-in 2023, when Corona pandemic still had Germany under control.
To see “Blue Port” in Hamburg until September 21st
This year, however, the harbor shines again in bright blue. About 9000 fluorescent tubes make it possible. They are attached to buildings such as the Elbphilharmonie, on ships and harbor cranes. This year’s “Blue Port” was started on Wednesday. Parts of the Hamburg harbor are magically illuminated until September 21.
The impression on the “Cruise Days” in Hamburg should be particularly beautiful this weekend when numerous cruise ships visit the Hanseatic city again and advertise for their travels. The Cruise Days are actually an advertising event in the industry, but have developed into a kind of folk festival over the years – and in blue they probably look particularly chic.
