Due to a kerosene supplement, there are delays and flight cancellations at Hamburg Airport. What passengers should know now.
Passengers at the Airport Hamburg have to prepare for delays and flight cancellations due to a kerosene supplement. “Flight operations are currently stable. However, we assume that flight plan changes and delays at Hamburg Airport can occur in the next few days,” said the airport on request. At the moment there is no more precise information about the cause and scope of the delivery. However, there is no evidence that sabotage or terrorist activities could be involved.
“The airlines at Hamburg Airport are currently affected by an unforeseen kerosene supplement. The airlines and its suppliers worked with a high pressure on a solution. Passengers should keep an eye on their flight status and contact the hotlines of the respective airlines or their tour operator when rebooking or cancellations.
According to the airport, the machines are refueled via the airlines and its respective suppliers as well as the operator of the tank bearing at Hamburg Airport. The airport is neither involved in procurement, storage, sales nor into the delivery of the kerosine or the refueling of the planes. “As an airport, we only provide the areas, we don’t belong to the tanks or other installations, systems or vehicles in the refueling process,” it said.
