The initiative, published in the Official Gazette, seeks to boost innovation applied to bovine races, sheep, pigs, birds, bees and other species to increase productivity, quality and profitability of Buenos Aires productions.
The Buenos Aires Ministry of Agrarian Development created the Provincial Animal Genetic Improvement Programwith the aim of promoting innovation applied to the selection and genetic improvement of different species, including bovines, sheep, pigs, birds and bees.
The measure, formalized through resolution 379/2025 published on Wednesday in the Official Gazette of the Province of Buenos Aires, points to Maximize productive performance, increase resistance to disease and strengthen the provincial agricultural framework.
The program also foresees the Creation and registration of cabins and genetic nuclei in the cooperative associations of experimental farms of the Ministry, to make available to producers and institutions Genetic material certified of different races.

The formation of the Provincial network of cabins and genetic nuclei of the MDA, conceived as a space for exchange of experiences and development of scientific and technological activities linked to animal improvement.

The resolution empowers Subsecretariat of Agrarian Development and Agrifood Quality To coordinate the actions of the program together with institutions of the technological scientific system, both public and private, and to issue complementary measures for its implementation.
Finally, it is provided that the annual operational plans of the experimental farms must contemplate at least one animal improvement componentpromoting the dissemination of genetic material between producers, schools and other institutions.
