Senasa approved a new regulatory framework for the transport of living animals and products of animal origin

Resolution 723/2025 establishes enabling and control requirements for vehicles and drivers, in order to guarantee animal health, well -being and safety of the goods.

The National Agrifood Health and Quality Service (Senasa) approved a Comprehensive regulatory framework for health habilitation of means of transport of living animals and merchandise of animal originas provided by Resolution 723/2025 published in the Official Gazette.

The standard establishes that all vehicles under the competence of the agency must have current sanitary authorization, except for the exceptions provided for in a specific annex. The qualification and rehabilitation procedure will be mandatory and will be in charge of the National Directorate of Animal Health.

Among the responsibilities set, the Transport owners They must register and renew the authorization of each unit, identify vehicles with the number granted by Senasa, carry the health card in physical or digital format and ensure that animal welfare standards are met during the transfer.

In turn, drivers They must circulate only with enabled transport, demand and complete the electronic traffic document (DT-E), carry the certificate of washing and disinfection of vehicles and denounce eventual breaches or diseases of mandatory notification in transferred animals.

The resolution also creates a Official Health Certification Program for the Manufacture of Transport Vehicles of live animals and merchandise of animal originwhich will allow companies to voluntarily validate the design and manufacture of their units.
