Pegasus: This is what the economy of tomorrow will look like

Investing out of the crisis – that was the motto of Upper Austrian companies last year. Many companies have started projects – for new infrastructure or new business models and products. That’s why we’re putting the 29th edition of the country’s largest business prize under the motto “Invest in the future” this year.

Today, Saturday, begins the application period for the business prize, which is organized jointly with the Raiffeisenlandesbank, the state of Upper Austria, the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Industry and KPMG. How did you reconcile your investment plans and the current health crisis? How much do you invest in innovation? Which innovations should ensure a good development of your company in the coming years? All of these points are included in the evaluation for the business award this year.

The Pegasus is awarded in six categories: Innovation Emperor, Lighthouse, Success Story and Hope for the Future. The Austrian Chamber of Commerce is the patron of the Entrepreneur/Manager of the Year award. You cannot apply for the Pegasus for Lifetime Achievement. Here the winner will not be revealed until the gala night.

You can apply in one or more categories. The submission deadline is April 8th. A preliminary selection is made by the business editors of the OÖ Nachrichten together with the experts from the Raiffeisenlandesbank. The list of nominees will be announced on April 30th, which will then go to the prominent jury. In addition to the previous year’s winners, the partners, the OÖN and the emeritus university professor Friedrich Schneider as jury chairman sit in this.

Do you have a brilliant idea that shouldn’t be withheld from the public? Then apply for the Pegasus at www.nachrichten.at. There you have the possibility to upload links and documents. The gala night of business will take place on June 2nd in the Brucknerhaus in Linz – in compliance with any applicable Corona rules.

Gold, silver and bronze – the six categories

Lighthouses: The category is for large companies that are growing profitably. They stand for the radiance of the Upper Austrian location, even beyond the national borders. In addition, they are pioneers for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Innovation Emperor: All companies that have developed innovative products, services, processes and market developments and that are securing the future of the location are invited to apply in this category.

Success Stories: Companies that have a long or exceptional history are found in this category. These companies assume special responsibility for their employees and region.

future hopes: In this category, together with the state of Upper Austria, those companies that are less than five years old are awarded. You have the potential to be the employers of tomorrow.

Entrepreneur/Manager: The special prize of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce highlights the country’s female entrepreneurs and managers. The economy is much more female than expected.
