The Government extended the mandates of Pedro Juan Inchauspe, Nicolás Marcelo Ferro, Silvina Rivarola and Sebastián Sánchez Sarmiento in the driving of the BCRA until 2031, in commission and the wait for the guarantee of the Senate. In addition, he appointed Evert Ignacio Van Tooren as head director of the Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade.
The National Government ordered the continuity of four members of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) And he appointed a new member in the Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade (BICE), within the framework of a series of measures published Monday in the Official Gazette.
Through Decree 691/2025, signed by the President Javier Milei and the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputothe designation in commission was extended Pedro Juan Inchauspe, Nicolás Marcelo Ferro, Silvina Rivarola and Sebastián Sánchez Sarmientowho will remain in their positions until September 2031. The Executive clarified that he will request the Senate Agreement to formalize those designations.
The resolution was adopted after the expiration of the previous mandates, which guaranteed the institutional continuity of the Central Bank’s conduction in a context of high economic and political sensitivity.
In parallel, through decree 688/2025, the incorporation of Evert Ignacio Van Tooren as heading of the BICE, also with character ad honoremfor the period corresponding to social exercises 2025 and 2026.
Economist from the University of Buenos Aires, Van Tooren has experience in the private sector and public management, and since 2024 he served as vice president of the BICE FIDEICOMISOS BOX.
The BICE, a state financial entity, has a strategic role in financing investment and export projects, especially for small and medium enterprises.
