Construction remained in “saw mode” and showed a slight monthly improvement in August. However, it remained below the last peak in April and almost at the same level as at the end of 2024.

The INDEC reported this Wednesday that the synthetic indicator of construction activity (ISAC) increased 0.5% compared to July. Since the beginning of the year, this sector has been alternating increases with decreases, which does not reflect symptoms of sustained recovery.

In this way, the sector remained 2% below April levelwhich so far was the highest figure since Javier Milei was president. Likewise, the value of the ISAC seasonally adjusted series was practically identical to December of last year.

In interannual terms, an increase of just 0.4%although in the accumulated of 2025 the activity is a 8% higher than that of 2024, mainly due to the very low comparison base.

At the input level, the annual variations were extremely disparate. Among the increases, those in asphalt (+61%), granite and limestone mosaics (+32.3%) and manufactured concrete (+22.5%) stood out. At the other extreme, the most significant falls were seen in hollow bricks (-14.7%), plasterboard (-11.5%) and lime (-9.5%).
