An economist close to Javier Milei affirmed that the Government will announce a new convertibility plan

The president Javier Milei plans to announce a new convertibility plan next Tuesday, after his meeting at the White House with donald trumpas announced this Saturday by one of his advisors, the economist Antonio Aracre. The announcement is part of the recent American financial bailoutwhich included a swap of US$20,000 million to guarantee the stability of the Argentine debt.

In his analysis, Aracre highlighted that Argentines could once again “dream of that convertibility that we had in the ’90s, which allowed us to enjoy stability for a decade and access to credit like never before seen in the country.”

The liberal advisor explained on C5N that the Government’s proposal seeks create a five year bridge until income from exports of resources such as lithium, gas and oil alleviate the lack of foreign currency.

Among the pillars mentioned are: Swap as a backup, American intervention in the market, Scott Bessent and the mgeopolitical otive.

Aracre pointed out that US participation responds to a strategic interest: “Argentina is the only important country that can collaborate to reduce China’s influence in the region.”
