Law is in force that forces businesses to allow customers to use posnet to avoid scams

According to the text, all businesses and service providerspublic or private, that operate with cards must update your electronic payment devices within 90 days since the law came into force.

During the debate in the Senate, Demaría specified that the objective of the initiative was “protect the security and personal data of credit and debit card users; avoid scams and theft and incorporate the best international practices on the matter into legislation.”

He found that the most common crimes occurred when consumers handed over the card and ID to the merchant. “That period is more than enough to photograph them, make multiple payments or clone the credit or debit card,” he said, but clarified that “those people who want to continue giving the ID and the card to the provider can continue doing so.”

Awareness campaigns and sanctions

He Provincial Executive Branch will define the enforcement authoritywho will be in charge of implementing a awareness, information and training campaign on the safe use of credit and debit cards.
