More and more corporations are showing Russia the red card

  • Volkswagen The VW Group (CEO: Herbert Diess) and its subsidiary Porsche stop producing vehicles in Russia: Exports were also stopped yesterday. VW operates a production facility south of Moscow and in Nizhny Novgorod. As reported, there are work stoppages in European plants because parts from the Ukraine are missing.
  • Mercedes The Stuttgart car manufacturer Mercedes (CEO: Ola Källenius) has pulled the ripcord: Production in Russia will be discontinued, no more cars and vans will be delivered there. A plant with 1,000 jobs was inaugurated near Moscow three years ago. Even the world’s largest truck manufacturer Daimler Truck no longer builds in Russia.
  • IKEA The Swedish furniture company IKEA temporarily suspends operations in Russia and Belarus. The decision affects 15,000 employees. All exports and imports to and from these countries will be stopped. The same applies to production in Russia and sale in furniture stores. One reason is “serious disruptions to supply chains”.
  • Liqui Moly The German company Liqui Moly, specializing in the production of additives, lubricants and motor oils, yesterday severed business relations with Russia with immediate effect. One waives 40 million euros and writes off outstanding payments of several million euros, it said yesterday in an open letter.
