An advisor to Martín Guzmán resigned with harsh criticism of the management of the Minister of Economy

“My current disengagement is driven by the continuous short-term measures that are not consistent with a medium- and long-term developmental economic course, which our country needs so much,” Papa said in the resignation letter he sent to Guzmán.

In addition, he said that to this are added “the prevailing forms of management both within the Ministry (Secretary of Energy, Cabinet of Advisors), and outside (Ministry of Environment), which are incompatible with my professional training, work ethic and vocation of public service”.

Papa had served as Undersecretary of Energy Planning, a position he left in August 2021 for “professional reasons.

After that position he came to the position of adviser to the Cabinet of the Ministry of Economy, from which he also disassociated himself.

According to reports, the economist -specialized in innovation, renewable energies and economic development- also stated in his letter that “I am convinced that only through serious planning, transparent communication and a genuine collective interest (not personal) will it be possible to put stand up for Argentina and achieve a more prosperous, stable economy with social justice”.

During his time at Energy, Papa had conflicts with the internal line of the area that he had to lead and also with the political leadership of the Secretariat, which is in charge of Darío Martínez.
