Lamb Weston Alimentos Modernos arises from a commercial alliance between Sociedad Comercial del Plata (SCP) and the multinational Lamb Weston Holdings, number one in the production of frozen potatoes in the United States and second place globally; and that employs more than 7,800 people around the world.
According to the business plan, the investment implies the creation of between 150 and 200 direct jobs, and 3,000 indirect jobs; and foresees that 90 percent of the plant’s production will go to the foreign market.
Export projections are US$50 million in 2024, reaching US$114 million in 2029; The construction period for the plant will be 18 months and commissioning is expected by the end of 2023.
The meeting was attended by the president and CEO of Lamb Weston, Tom Werner; the president of SCP, Ignacio Noel; and the vice president and CEO, Pablo Arnaude, who thanked the Government for its support in order to advance in investment and highlighted the productive recovery that Argentina is going through.

“This announcement shows once again the confidence that our country generates to invest and ratifies the path that Argentina is traveling, to stand up with more production and more employment,” said Kulfas, who thanked that “a leading company in the international food has chosen our country”.
For his part, Cafiero stressed that the announcement demonstrates “the interest of companies in betting on the country and ratifies the direction of growth of production in Argentina, it is a support to the path that we started two years ago, when we set out to recover the policy industry, to reactivate production and work in the country”.
