On February 24, the representatives of the Conadu, Conadu Histórica, Fedun, Ctera, Uda and Fagdut unions presented their salary demands to the Minister of Education, Jaime Perczyk, and the Secretary of University Policies, Oscar Alpa, in the first joint meeting of this year.
The rectors of the study houses that make up the National Interuniversity Council (CIN) were also present and participated remotely, through the Zoom platform, according to official sources.
In this framework, Minister Perczyk ratified the Government’s commitment “so that teachers’ salaries recover purchasing power and beat inflation”, and pointed out that “the salary discussion is a central part of educational policy”.
“The national government is clear that the public university is a platform for development and one of the proposals that Argentina has to find a better and more federal path of social justice with work, with production, with science, and with knowledge,” Perczyk had raised.
