War in Ukraine: Leading business organizations start aid initiative

“#WirtschaftHilft” is the name of an initiative by business associations that wants to provide information and try to integrate refugees into the German labor market.

The leading business associations have launched an aid initiative in response to the Ukraine war. On the one hand, it is about the integration of refugees into the German labor market, as the associations announced on Thursday.

It is to be expected that many will stay in Germany for a longer period of time. The “#WirtschaftHilft” initiative provides information that is necessary for good access and the integration of refugees into the labor market – on questions of residence and employment law, job placement, funding instruments and social security law.

It is also said that the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine has triggered the largest humanitarian crisis in Europe since the end of the Second World War. The supply situation in the war and border areas is deteriorating from day to day and the need for aid is increasing. Since the beginning of the war, numerous companies have been involved with a wide range of initiatives. The central associations now want to support companies in aligning offers of help with the situation on site. “#WirtschaftHilft” provides information about specific government needs lists and their organizational processing of donations, including contact options with Ukrainian companies, among others.

The initiative was started by the Confederation of German Employers’ Associations, the Federation of German Industries, the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Central Association of German Crafts.
