According to the proposal of the CABA ruling party, the calculation takes the year-on-year inflation recorded by the local Price Index from November 2020 to October 2021, the period in which the tax to be applied was determined.
During that period, inflation in the automotive sector was, on average, 69.2%, with increases that, in some cases, reached a maximum of up to 500%.
In this regard, the president of the Budget Commission, the legislator of Together for Change Claudio Romero, argued that the measure “will prevent patents from increasing excessively, thus reaching more than 800,000 vehicles located in the City, the vast majority of them medium and low range.”
Strictly speaking, the initiative was presented by the Buenos Aires Government in order to apply, through the Government Administration of Public Revenues (AGIP), a ceiling of 49.9% in the update of the automobile tax during 2022.
The file will be part of the issues that the Buenos Aires deputies will address in the venue starting at 11 this Thursday.
