The Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences offers a total of 71 bachelor’s and master’s courses at its four locations. They all invite you to an open house on Friday, March 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. At information events, the institutes provide an insight into everyday student life, teaching content and job opportunities in the individual courses.
The Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences currently has 6,000 students. It is Austria’s strongest research university of applied sciences and has four majors. Each is treated at its own location: computer science, communication and media in Hagenberg, medical technology and applied social sciences in Linz, business and management in Steyr and technology and applied natural sciences in Wels.
Each location develops its own program for the Open House. Hagenberg offers insights into IT and media projects as well as tours through the various workshops and studios. The lectures and consultations are also offered here as a live stream or video call.
Those interested can explore the medical technology laboratories in Linz, and there are exciting exhibits to admire in Wels. And the Steyr campus can be explored on a virtual scavenger hunt.
Studying without a high school diploma
The timing of the Open House is well-chosen for high school graduates. But the offer is also interesting for people who have not passed a matriculation examination. The “Center of Lifelong Learning” is available at all locations for questions about the study qualification course (SBL), which can be completed in two semesters while working. It always begins in September, and the degree entitles the holder to start a specific course of study at the university of applied sciences.
The FH also takes into account the fact that there is more to a good time at university than just studying. Guided tours of the campus and in the dormitories also give a first taste of student life and everyday student life.
