Gmundner Dairy: New boss

There is a change at the top of the Gmundner Molkerei: Josef Fürtbauer resigns his position as chairman and his previous deputy, Johannes Trinkfass, takes over. This was announced yesterday, Friday, by broadcast.

“We are currently in a very crucial phase for our company. These future questions should be clarified by those who will then also be responsible,” says Josef Fürtbauer. With this statement he alludes to the fact that the Gmundner dairy is currently negotiating a merger with the Salzburger Alpenmilch Genossenschaft, as reported. Number three and number five would create Austria’s second largest milk supplier (after Berglandmilch/”Schärdinger”).

Fürtbauer has led the farming cooperative with more than 2000 members since 2009. His successor, Trinkfass (43), runs a dairy farm in Taufkirchen an der Trattnach. He has been the deputy chairman since 2020.
