There were also similar actions in various districts of the province of Buenos Aires.
The purpose of the embargoes on delinquent taxpayers that the AFIP carried out was to recover various assets and goods such as bank accounts, personal property, real estate and credits, among others.
Along these lines, since last February, the federal tax agency added, as another recoverable asset in case of debt, to digital accounts, among which are digital wallets.
To determine which accounts to apply for embargoes, AFIP uses a database of financial entities, on which it has access to customer information. The regulations applied do not establish an order of priority on which assets should be advanced first when requesting the blocking of an embargo to collect debts.
It should be remembered that the execution of fiscal debts with the AFIP were suspended for 19 months, as part of the tools implemented to cushion the economic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
During this period of time, the agency made different tools available to taxpayers that allowed progress in the regularization of accumulated liabilities.
In this way, since February 1, AFIP began the fiscal executions to the riskiest taxpayers and with greater amounts of debt. Now digital assets are added to the list of assets for debt recovery.
