(Note: This contribution has no narration.) O-Ton Robert Habeck (Greens), Federal Minister of Economics: “It also took longer because the hope, willingness and will to cooperate is extremely high. Today we will sign a total of five cooperation agreements sign, or rather the companies. Three have now been signed with Adnoc. They are all about producing green hydrogen, intensifying research, developing the technology and then bringing it to Germany. When I say ‘green’, because that doesn’t exist yet, they will rely on blue ones in the meantime, i.e. the separation of CO2 molecules and then storage here in the Emirates. But the transport, the technology, the development, the use, that can then start. We have “There’s simply no time to lose. We can’t wait ten or 15 years until we have enough green hydrogen and then switch from coal. Of course, that’s rela tive steps, but relatively better steps than not doing them. (…) And the companies that are involved and that have the know-how that is available here in the United Arab Emirates are now being brought together. There was a lot of commitment. And that was very nice to see, and my commitment is also great. (…) We shouldn’t make the mistake again of concentrating on one state, one region with everything we have. We need to broaden it. That’s how I act all the time now. And this region is a high power region for energy. The states that are ambitious to support the ambition, both in terms of rights, but also in terms of the development of a green infrastructure, that can only be right. Thanks very much.”
