“On a global level, Argentina can make an important contribution to the energy transition. First, through the production of renewable energy,” he said, arguing that “the northwestern region and Cuyo have the highest photovoltaic irradiation in the world” and that the country has “potential comparative advantage for wind energy in Patagonia”.

“Gas is also a transition energy and we have the second largest shale gas reserve in the world, Vaca Muerta. Natural gas production is increasing and our goal is to be able to produce LNG within a few years. We are also expanding mineral production of Transition”Guzman maintained.

“The energy transition is also a balance of payments issue. In a world with carbon prices, the adaptation of the energy sectors will be essential for macroeconomic and financial stability in the coming decades,” he stressed.
