“The situation is good, the economic engine is humming, but with uncertainties,” said Economics Councilor Markus Achleitner today, Monday, at a press conference in Linz: together with the state manager of the energy saving association, Gerhard Dell, and the manager of Messe Wels, Robert Schneider, informed he about the program and the challenges of the “We Build” energy saving fair in Wels at the beginning of April.
This is also characterized by the sharp rise in prices for electricity, gas and oil, the organizers are expecting good demand: According to Schneider, it is difficult to predict how many visitors will come this year, in the past it was 100,000, “up to 80,000 could be it already be”. What is certain is that the number of exhibitors will fall by around two thirds to 245. The reason is, on the one hand, the uncertain planning caused by the corona, and on the other hand, especially among construction companies, the high demand: “Many companies have full order books for this year. But they lack manpower. It is clear that they will then not also be present at trade fairs,” said Achleitner.
Companies and interested parties are reporting high demand, for example for biomass boilers and photovoltaic systems: Here and there there will be delays, said Achleitner: “But it is important that people start making the switch and thus make a contribution to the energy transition provide.” There are currently more than 43,000 PV systems in our federal state. By 2030 there should be 200,000 PV systems on Upper Austria’s roofs.
First hybrid trade fair concept
The energy saving trade fair has been around for 37 years: “Private demand in the areas of energy, bathrooms, construction and living is currently immense,” says Schneider. The fair comes at the right time.
The fair is open to the public from Friday, April 8th to Sunday, April 10th, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A hybrid format is planned for the first time: Since March 15, interested parties can register online at energiesparmesse.at and also obtain information. “Each of the exhibitors is also present digitally,” said Schneider. Corona has shown that an online trade fair cannot replace a face-to-face event: “But it is a good addition.”
The “We Build” trade fair will take place in halls 19 (construction), 20 (heating and energy technology) and 21 (sanitary): 3G proof is required at the entrance. Wearing a mask is recommended.
