“Invest in the future”: That is the motto of this year’s Pegasus, the country’s largest business prize, which OÖN awards together with its partners.

Among them is Braun Rückbautechnologie GmbH based in Vöcklabruck: The family business develops and produces technologies for the controlled dismantling of nuclear facilities. They specialize in cutting and dismantling a wide variety of materials. The export rate is 90 percent. The machines were used in Chernobyl, for example. A dismantling concept was also drawn up for Fukushima. But radioactive waste also accumulates in Austria, for example in hospitals and research laboratories.

Christian Brandstötter also sees opportunities in the success stories: He runs an engineering office for electrical engineering and automation in Waldburg with a focus on measurement, control and regulation technology called “Control Engineering”: For 23 years, Brandstötter has been advising companies on planning new systems and on Networking of machines, he creates control concepts and helps with project planning and management.
