The total percentage of poor for the groups from 15 to 29 years old and from 30 to 64 years old was 44.2% and 32.6%, respectively. In the population aged 65 and over, 13% was located below the poverty line.
In global terms, the percentage of households below the poverty line reached 27.9%; 37.3% of people reside in them. Within this group, 6.1% of households are below the indigence line, which includes 8.2% of people.
This implies that, for the universe of the 31 urban agglomerations, 2,633,905 households are below the poverty line, including 10,806,414 people; and, within this group, 578,282 households are below the indigence line, which represents 2,384,106 indigent people.
Compared to the first half of 2021, the incidence of poverty registered a reduction of 3.3 percentage points in both households and individuals. In the case of indigence, it showed a decrease of 2.1% in households and 2.5% in individuals.
