Arsat will invest US million to create a data center in Bariloche

“Arsat will make an investment of US$70 million with local and international financing, and that means a redundant data center for the existing one in Benavidez,” as well as an earth station and other activities that will employ at least 200 workers, Tombolini said this morning. in dialogue with Télam at the beginning of the opening ceremony of the park.

Arsat will lay fiber optics to connect the Bariloche Technology Park which is located 5 kilometers from the airport and 3 kilometers from the headquarters of the state-owned company Invap, and which already has more than 40 companies to settle in, whether in the technological, logistics or productive sectors.

Tombolini added that the Bariloche data center is one of the “regional centers that Arsat plans to build in other parts of the country.”

“This has to do with federalizing content management and being able to bring resources closer to regional economies,” within the framework of an increasingly digitized economy, he stated.

He also indicated that Arsat will lay fiber optics to connect the Balseiro Institute, an entity with which “we are going to continue the management of Pablo Tognetti”, Tombolini’s predecessor, especially with regard to the specific agreement for support by Arsat for the activities of research and development and training of human resources (HR) in Telecommunications Engineering.

The Arsat board of directors participated in the inauguration ceremony of the Bariloche Technological Park (Pitba) together with the governor of Río Negro, Arabela Carreras; the local mayor, Gustavo Gennuso, and other national, provincial and communal authorities.

The Pitba aims to generate a federal development pole for telecommunications and ICTs 4.0 with public organizations and companies, investment in infrastructure and development of human capital.
