Buenos Aires government signed contracts to start works on Provincial Route 6

From the government It was specified that said route “acts as a nexus of the port complex, which will mean greater efficiency in the transportation system, thus achieving greater competitiveness and integration for the region.”

This highway forms the fourth ring road with an approximate length of 180 kilometers, starting at Provincial Route 215 and ending at the access to the city of Zárate.

The first stage contemplates the resurfacing of the sections with the greatest deterioration and rehabilitation of the roads that are in better condition; in addition to the enhancement of bridges, lighting and horizontal, vertical and aerial signage.

The works will be carried out along 140 km of extension crossing 11 municipalities: La Plata, Brandsen, San Vicente, Cañuelas, General Las Heras, Marcos Paz, General Rodríguez, Campana, Exaltación de La Cruz, Pilar and Zárate, which will benefit not only the 1.8 million inhabitants of those municipalities , but also to those who circulate along this route that connects two ports.

The Stage I of the work on Provincial Route 6 will have a higher investment of $7,200 millionand 71% will be financed through a loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), within the framework of the aforementioned program, while the rest will be financed by the Province.

The execution of the works will be in charge of the Provincial Directorate of Roads of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services, and is part of the Connectivity and Security Program in Road Corridors.

The main objective is to optimize safety conditions and services for users and transport in general, helping to improve the productivity of the provincial economy by improving the quality of circulation and road safety, reducing operating costs. vehicular, travel times and traffic accidents.
