This means that those who make quick decisions still have the chance to have a say in the competition for the Pegasus. Companies wishing to apply can upload their documents to www.nachrichten.at. Participation is possible in five different categories: beacons, success stories, innovation emperors, hopes for the future and “Entrepreneur/Manager of the Year”. You cannot apply for a life’s work; this prize is awarded directly by the top-class jury.
Eveline Pupeter, managing director and owner of the Linz-based senior cell phone manufacturer Emporia, is counting on her chances of winning the “Entrepreneur/Manager of the Year” category. The company defied the pandemic and increased sales from 24.4 to 37 million euros. Every year, Emporia sells around 700,000 smartphones, tablets and cell phones in 30 European countries.
Viktoria Grubauer, founder and head of the cooking school “Cook up Kitchen” with locations in Ried in der Riedmark and Aurolzmünster, also applied in this category. The restaurateur founded her first cooking school in Geinberg in 2018 and has since expanded the range to include catering, a pop-up restaurant and a farm shop. Grubauer used to work, among other things, as gastronomic manager on the MS Linzerin of the Wurm & Köck shipping company.
