due to the increase in profitability, the sale of agricultural machinery grows

Furthermore, as a key fact, in 2021according to estimates from the Ministry of Productive Development, production of agricultural machinery was the highest since 1996, with more than 10,000 units. As explained in the industrial portfolio, this was also possible thanks to financing at accessible rates, the best profitability of agriculture and import substitution.

What happens with agricultural machinery is inversely proportional to the panorama shown by the automotive market. At the moment agricultural machinery manufacturing companies are working at an excellent pace and offer various models and equipment with logical waiting times.

“After the month of March, we evaluated the first quarter of the year and when comparing it with the same period of the previous year, the result is favorable,” said the Agricultural Machinery Division of Acara, in addition to indicating that “the field wants and needs more technology and there is a predisposition to invest”.

In the comparison with February, the improvement was 16.8% in the total number of combines, tractors and sprayers.

The number of patented harvesters rose to 96, up 100% from 48 in February and 37.1% in relation to March 2021, when 70 units had been registered. The combine harvester market is led by John Deere, with 445% of the total, followed by Case (25%) and New Holland (19%).

As to tractors, 455 units were patented in March, an increase of 10.4% compared to the 412 units in February, and an increase of 2% if the comparison is year-on-year, since in March 2021 446 units had been registered. John Deere also leads the tractor market, with 32%, followed by Pauny with 20% and New Holland and Case, both with 15%.

With regard to sprayers, 48 units were patented last month, a drop of 9.4% compared to the 53 units in February, and also a drop of 15.8% if the comparison is year-on-year, since in March 2021 57 units had been registered.

PLA and Metalfor, each with 33%, are the main brands in terms of sprayer patenting, while Cayman was in third place with 18%.

The idea of the Government is to continue advancing in the substitution of imports in this key sector and, according to estimates, of every 100 machines sold in Argentina today, 60 are nationally produced. That is why manufacturers expect that the tailwind in the sector will continue this year, mainly leveraged by the extraordinary profitability that high international prices would leave.in addition to the financing tools offered by the companies themselves and the various banking entities, with Banco Nación y Provincia at the forefront.
