Among the candidates so far: Dronetech Austria, a subsidiary of Linz-based Immotech Austria, which has developed a drone with a special camera and 5G technology together with the Chinese telecommunications supplier and hardware manufacturer Huawei. The flying object provides real-time data on the health of the crops, enabling farmers to make precise fertilizer decisions.

My-PV, based in Neuzeug, which develops and manufactures devices to connect photovoltaic systems with the heating sector, also sees opportunities for the Pegasus. In this way, the home can be heated from solar power. my-PV and Dronetech Austria have applied in the “Innovation Emperor” category. Another category is “success story”. Here the Gmunden nut trader GM Pesendorfer is hoping for victory. The company has developed from a small one-man salesman to a nut supplier in Europe.

PET Austria, based in Eberstalzell, also wants to score points with its company history, which has risen to become a global supplier for machine manufacturers through the production of device components. She also applied in the “Lighthouse” category.

The country’s largest business prize is also awarded for the greatest “hope for the future”, the most impressive “entrepreneur/manager of the year” and “life’s work”.
