Hardly anyone is as familiar with these substances as Walter Orthmann. The Brazilian has been working for the same company for 84 years – in Brusque in southern Brazil. The 100-year-old has thus set a Guinness World Record. Orthmann started as a teenager in the factory building, then he worked in administration until he finally became sales manager. O-Ton Walter Orthmann, Guinness World Record holder “You have to like your work. I started working here with this willingness and a fighting spirit. You can’t just do any job just to say that you work. It works You won’t be able to keep it up either.” Walter Orthmann’s certainly extraordinary achievement was celebrated on his hundredth birthday. His advice for a long and fulfilling professional life, on the other hand, is surprisingly common: do what you love and stay away from fast food. O-Ton Walter Orthmann, Guinness World Record holder “I avoid salt and sugar. I avoid things that damage the organs. I avoid Coca-Cola and other soft drinks. I only consume things that are good for you. That helps your body really be strong forever.” Orthmann said so in an interview this week. To stay fit, the 100-year-old stretches every day. Because Walter Orthmann is far from thinking about retirement.
