In the night to yesterday, Wednesday, there was no result at a meeting. Up for discussion is whether a call option will be exercised to reverse the privatization of the airport in 2018.
Four years ago, the Lilihill Group took over 74.9 percent of Klagenfurt Airport from Franz Peter Orasch, since then the state of Carinthia and the city of Klagenfurt have only held a blocking minority. Most recently, Orasch had announced expansion plans worth hundreds of millions of euros, which, however, were linked to the sale of land.
The responsible VP state councilor Martin Gruber rejected this – and expressed criticism of the airport management. There were 6,000 passengers in the first quarter, which was not only due to Corona. Last year there were a total of 30,000 passengers.
