Among the objectives of the new plan are, by way of “merely enunciative”, the “financing of actions linked to health and reproductive biotechnologies; facilities for the management of the farm and animal welfare; property infrastructure; implantation of pastures and green areas, conserved forages and strategic feeding”.
The “incorporation of live genetics for reproductive purposes; incorporation of livestock technology and connectivity; and adaptation of refrigerators for the fractionation of half cattle, among other actions” is also contemplated, in accordance with what is indicated in article 4 of the norm.
The Gan.Ar Plan It will be implemented through “the reduction of rates on lines of credit and/or Economic Contributions through specific agreements with provinces and other public or private entities linked to the sector,” the resolution specified.
As background to the plan, the resolution refers to the XXXVIII Ordinary Meeting of the Federal Agricultural Council on September 28, 2021, in which the Ministry agreed with the Liaison Commission of Agricultural Entities that “financing lines would be provided for cattle and a work table would be convened between technicians from the entities”.
Likewise, on December 21 of last year, an agreement was signed for the implementation of financing lines from the Ministry of Productive Development (through Fondep and Fogar) and the Ministry of Agriculture (through Fondagro).
In the foundations of the rule for the creation of the plan, reference is made to the importance of facing it with “a federal, integrating and participatory perspective, which contemplates and respects the agroecological, productive, social and economic characteristics of each region of the country, its current situation and its development potential.
“To fulfill these purposes, it is necessary to finance investments specifically aimed at increasing the productivity and competitiveness of meat, milk and by-products of livestock origin”was added in the recitals.
The resolution states that, “from the productive point of view, the lack of growth in the bovine chain is due to the low production of calves per womb and a low slaughter weight, fundamentally in the farm destined for internal consumption”, for what is required “the design and implementation of appropriate measures for each of the links and participants involved.”
“The margin of development in productivity and efficiency in most cattle activities is very wide, indicating the important improvement that can be achieved in these activities”remarked the portfolio led by Julián Domínguez.
