For years, the heat pump manufacturer Ochsner has benefited from an increased interest in heat pumps. At the partner congress taking place tomorrow, Friday, company boss Karl Ochsner can report that the most recent expansion of the plant in Haag in Lower Austria by 5.2 million euros has been completed since the beginning of the year. “That brings an increase in capacity from 10,000 to 15,000 units per year,” says Ochsner.
This was accompanied by an increase in the workforce by 100 to 400 within a year – from production to customer service to sales, says Ochsner.
Because the space in Haag will not be enough in the long term, Ochsner is planning a second location to be built in Oed in Lower Austria: “Start of construction is planned for 2023.” The development is reflected in the turnover, which has increased by 20 percent per year in recent years – to 60 million euros most recently. This year it could be 78 million euros – if all materials and parts remain available. “It’s a challenge every week, so far we’ve always been able to produce,” says Ochsner.
Business drivers are primarily large air-water heat pumps for multi-storey residential buildings – because the desire to “get away from gas” is growing there, says Ochsner. The prices for the systems were increased by up to seven percent at the turn of the year, followed by a price increase during the year. However, the margins are still under pressure because the costs would rise even more. “In the first quarter alone, our production costs rose by 16 percent,” says Ochsner. (sib)
