Subsidies for $193 million are renewed to companies in the sector for the distribution of social bottles

Subsidies for 3 million are renewed to companies in the sector for the distribution of social bottles

It should be remembered that on April 19, the Ministry of Energy extended until the end of the year the “temporary economic assistance” that is granted to companies in the chain of gas in cylinders, through resolution 271/2022.

This assistance is for those companies that are in the National Registry of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Industry, which was created in 2021, with the aim of solving the maximum reference prices in the sector.

Likewise, the criteria for selecting the beneficiaries of the economic assistance was modified, when the destination is other than that of sales to distributors of containers of up to 45 kilos, which will become a percentage instead of a fixed sum.

Consequently, the temporary economic assistance will continue to be the equivalent of 20% of the invoicing for the sale of LPG (net of taxes) that the companies invoice monthly. Regarding the contribution when the destination is other than that of sale to distributors in containers of up to 45 kilos, the modification establishes that “fractioning companies may request a recognition of 20% of the current Maximum Reference Price for the sale of Fractioners to Distributors for each invoiced ton.

So far in 2022, transitory economic assistance has been approved for GLO distributors, fractionators and producers for a total of $2.69 billion.

Home Program

This is the benefit that, through ANSES, thousands of people receive from different social programs and benefits, in order to access a subsidy for the purchase of gas cylinders for community and home use at a lower price.

Currently, the Hogar Program consists of a monthly amount of $496.8 that covers part of the price of a 10-kilogram bottle. It is deposited through the management of ANSES, who collects the data of those people who request the benefit.

As a reference, the retail price of a 10-kilo bottle in the provinces of Buenos Aires and Córdoba is $607.42 and $618.73, with which the subsidy covers 81.79% and 80.29% % of its value, respectively.

The Hogar Program was created by decree 470 of March 30, 2015, and its financing was established through the trust fund to meet the needs of LPG in low-income sectors and for the expansion of natural gas networks, which had been established ten years earlier with Law 26,020.
